Research and Planning

1) Confirm your production brief. You write this yourself but it's absolutely crucial this is clear, appropriate and achievable.
Create a 4 minute action based production of a hour and half film that shows a variety of shots and contains a convincing narrative. The narrative is of a protagonist who was a highly trained assassin in the past held hostage by a local drug gang because he murdered their cocaine buyers and now they could go out of business. The production will host how he will escape the captivity of those antagonists.

2) Research: detailed notes on at least THREE texts similar to what you are creating. What are the key conventions? What can you learn/borrow from the examples you have looked at?
John Wick franchise:
I will adapt the main concepts from the action genre as it contains most of the typical conventions of action, i will try to replicate or be inspired from the fighting scenes especially those without weapons. As this is the main text will also adapt the use of Gun Fu techniques as well as the use of cinematography used in the films.

Enter the Dragon:
Bruce Lee's film will inspire me to adapt some of the Hong Kong cinema conventions such as dialogue and ideiologies in the text itself. In addition, i will also allow for opportunities to inspire the Kong Fu techniques to help the fighting scenes in the production.
007 Casino Royale:
The James Bond 007 films have a very iconic feel and look to their movies which is why i would like to adapt this cinematic look and feel to my overall production. This could be seen as a good improvement to reach a professional standard.

3) Project schedule: when will you shoot and edit this production? Make this a week-by-week schedule leading up to Easter. Key dates: we break up for Easter on Friday 31 March and the final deadline is Wednesday 18 April.
